I bought this table over other brands because it gets a thicker MDF board insert between the aluminum surfaces There are three different models of outdoor TT table from Stiga namely Equinox Equator and Eclipse The table top should be the same for all three models The difference between this table and Equator or Eclipse is that this one gets a center rail support while the other two don t As a result this one might be a little more stable and lighter to open and close I don t see much difference in bounce between this table and an indoor type wooden table but the surface friction seems to be less The assembly took me about 2 to 3 hours I was shocked to see the table came in a box that was only about 8 inches thin When the box was opened I found two boards a bunch of steel poles and two plastic bags of screws If you don t want to mess with assembling I guess Equator or Eclipse is the way to go Reviewers of the other two models said they started to play in 30 min or less I have played on this table for a couple of weeks now no complaint at all It is easy to push around light and smooth to open and close and very sturdy and playable

We purchased this outdoor table from Amazon for our patio area outside and promptly received it Unpacking and setup takes two adults for the last bit of assembly lifting and a few hours total time but before the evening was done we were playing on it The table has an aluminum surface on both the top and bottom We own a brick patio that is not perfectly level so we have to adjust the position of the table to accommodate It could use a better leveling system but seems pretty sturdy and our ten year old can fold open and close and lock down very easily We recently ordered a cover as we noticed that water will lay on the support center bottom area after a rain producing some discolored water and we hope to keep this for many years From a playability factor we cannot tell the difference in bounces from this table to our indoor table An expert might be able to tell but the weather is honestly a bigger factor outside than this table Overall we think the Equinox is an excellent value
